About 2 weeks ago a new beta of Opera Mini hit the internet: 4.1 beta. With this new version, Opera claims that the browser would be about 50% faster than 4.0. Of course I get skeptical with such numbers, so I had to check that out.
But gosh... they really did it. That browser is noticeably faster than 4.0, pages load seconds faster. They did some magic at the server side which improved things quite a lot.
Besides there are some other improvements. You can actually find words in pages now, quite handy when a long Wikipedia page is in memory and want to find that particular fact. Also the URL bar has auto-completion now. So you have to type long URLs only once and Opera Mini will take care of it in the future.
These are the main improvements I could came up so far. The beta has a good quality and is certainly usable for every day use.
